Many of the design solutions applied to retrofitting for the elderly rely on innovative materials, products and technologies that can be easily implemented into homes. These vary considerably in complexity and cost, meaning there are products that can address all manners of complications associated with dementia and ageing.
In the designing of Chris and Sally’s house a number of products have been used, including everyday items that provide additional benefit to the elderly, as well as innovative new products designed specifically to address the needs of those ageing at home.
