The Housing Associations' Charitable Trust, or HACT for short, work with the housing sector, government, civil society and communities to develop and share innovative approaches to meeting changing needs in the housing sector.
HACT have recently published 'Do the Smart Thing', a report examining the Internet of Things (IoT), and some of the pilots which have been carried out in the Housing sector so far. The report also addresses some of the barriers to its wider implementation, especially in social housing as well as the potential benefits from this technology for residents and communities in Social smart homes.
